John Muir Art Trail
This
year we introduce a new section, which celebrates an East Lothian man who
is iconic in world culture and was instrumental in our understanding of
environmental issues. His writing and his activism helped to save the Yosemite
Valley in California and other wilderness areas. The Sierra Club, which
he
founded, is now one of the most important conservation organizations in
the United States. As a boy the coastline of East Lothian helped inspire
John Muir.
To build on the beautiful John Muir Way, which starts in The Three Harbours
area and goes all the way along the East Lothian coastline to Dunglasss
we wish to celebrate Art that is inspired by this coastline.
To introduce this new feature what better way than link up Dunbar the birthplace
of John Muir and the Scottish Ornithologists Club and the Gosford Bothy at
Aberlady. It is hoped in years to come to develop this art trail.
